Build your wild self

This week for writing club we did a task where you had to build your wild self and write about it and This is my writing and my wild self.
The- rein-conda-gib-fly-lemur
Thick, long like sticks poke out of the top of my head.  A super long tongue that slithers its way out and is pale pink.Long crummy arms with pitch black fingers, that are great for scratching.Big wide  wings, that make me fly like a  monk butterfly free in the sky.A super long tail covered in black and white strips, that cruelly  up at the end like little flower.  You will never be able to find animal like this because its a rein-conda-gib-fly-lemur, the only one in the world.

Poem about .............

Light blonde hair with a tint of brown,
a big bright smile with fragments  of teeth showing.
A bubbly laugh that make you smirk,
Freckles lightly sprinkled all over her face that makes her look 100 times better.
An amazing musician with super fast fingers,
a great mathematician with a wonderful mind.
Who is this amazing person?

Did you guess it????????

ART

This is my lino printing evaluation and photo of one.

: - (

: - )
Investigate and discuss printmaking processes.

To research artists and complete an artist study to enhance understanding of printmaking.  (Art Analysis)

Use line to create shapes and convey tone on their images.

Use tone to show light in portrait drawings and polystyrene prints and lino prints.

Use the printing process to produce a clear print.

To learn how to use printing tools.

Understand the importance of line, contours and texture to create a successful print.

Summery of my lino printing.

Making lino prints was a bit harder than I thought it would be,I found the cutting out part the hardest but I found that if you sat on your lino, to make it soft it is way easier. I learned how to show the shape and form of my face by the way you cut the lines. New skills I learned would be how to cut it out and what is actually involved with the whole process because I thought you just draw it onto the lino and cut it out but it was a bit more complicated than that. I think that i created tone and texture very well because I showed my the tone really well and had good texture to. What I think I could do better was maybe not cut out my top and just lifted it black. If I was to do another lino print I would probably not cut out my face but cut out everything else .

ART

This term for art we are doing Lino prints, but first we made fish and carved them into meat trays. First we had to draw a fish on paper and add some shapes to it or patterns. Then we had to show Mrs Hull and if she said yes we could start on our meat trays. When we had done all the cutting and drawing part, we made a background to print our fish on. If that was dry we could get some ink and roll it on our fish print and then put it on the paper and press it down, when they were registered we could take them off. They turn out really cool if you do it right.

These are mine ones

My Writing - It's My Life

This is my this weeks writing on a girl how wins a book competition called Maya.
Chapter 1
Maya lay there with tears rushing down her rosy red cheeks, her face sunk into her pillow. Her bright blond hair sat on the tips of her shoulders, glowing blue eyes filled with tears stared at the ground.  Maya heard the clip clop of her Nanny’s shoes coming up the stairs, she wiped away the tears. She sat up and picked up her book, a tear dripped down her cheek and onto the the page leaving behind a stain.

The creaky door flew open and her Nanny walk in and sat with her on her little bed. Her Nanny's hand reached out to touch her hand " I know you're sad pumpkin but please come down stairs "
" Ok Nanny, I will come down in a bit" replied Maya . Maya was upset because it was her birthday and she didn't get anything from her Mum not even a card. Her Nanny left the room and went downstairs to make her favourite  dinner mac and cheese. Maya’s mum had lifted her when she was little, sometimes on her birthday she got a card from and if she was lucky she got something little.
A little book covered in bits and bops laid on Mayas bed, in it written with neat writing:
Dear Diary
Today was my birthday, I turned 13 teenager yay  . I’m a bit sad though because I didn’t get anything for mum not even a card or a letter. I know that mum left me but sometimes she sends me things on days like my birthday and Christmas today at school Summer Rose give me a new diary that she handmade, I really like it too. Any way for tea Nanny’s making my favourite, Mac and cheese. All is the same with Jamie she is still bullying me and Summer Rose. Tonight is a full moon and i hope to see a shooting star.
                                 Love Maya

Chapter two

" Tea time Maya , come to the dinner table " called Nanny
" Ok, Coming Nanny "replied Maya. They sat at the dinner table eating their tea .After tea Maya noticed the newspaper poking out on the chair, maya saw on the front page in bold black thick  letters” Writing competition for ages 10 and up” the winner gets their writing made into a book. Maya went and had a bubble bath and then she went to bed. Maya started to get to work she, got out her notepad and pen, she started planning and thinking of and idea something good that people will like. She had an idea that she thought would be good and know one would do, One about her life. “Hey Nanny I’m going to enter the writing competition for kids, it was in the newspaper,”
“ Thats cool honey, what are you going to do it about “
“ My life “ said Maya.

Chapter three

Maya hopped into her nice warm bed and snuggled down. All night she tossed and turned in her bed because she keep, thinking about the writing competition and what would happen if she won. To Maya winning is like the world because she had  lost her Mum not to anything bad, she just left one day when she was only 6 years old and she hasn't seen her since.

" Maya Maya, time to get up " it was her Nanny leaning over telling her to get up for school. Maya had a big yawn and then hope out of bed and got dressed for school.  She made her way slowly down stairs to the kitchen. Maya stuffed her feet along the old flora carpet in the hallway. Maya chummed on her breakfast and skulked down her milk. Before she knew it was time to go to school, all the way there she didn't say a word just sat there.
Chapter 4
Maya walked into school with a grin on her face. She ran up behind her best friend Summer Rose, she had thick brown hair covered in ringlets, dull green eyes  gazed into the distance. “ Hey, Summer Rose, guess what? “ Maya said happily.
“What?”Summer Rose replied
“ I have entered the young writers competition, if you win you get it made into a real book”.
“ Wow thats so cool Maya, what is it about”
“ My life”.
Chapter four
Maya spent all lunch planning things out for her book, Summer Rose sat and help her too. everyone walked past them thing what are they doing, doing homework during school?.
Later that day when the girls were going home they past a big bull board that had “Young writers competition, enter now online or full in the form”. Then you would never guess how came walking past, Mrs perfected Hollie Cat. “ Well hello, hello there Maya, if you did know I’m entering the writing competition “
“ Really Hollie, really you ”
“ Yep me and do you want to know something, my mum is very good friends with they jugie ”.
Maya and Summer Rose walked off home they looked back at Hollie and her so called friends, Hollie just laugh and walked away.
Chapter five
When Maya got home she went up to her room and sat on her her bounce bed. she pulled out her bag and got out her planning book. She ducked her head under her bed and got out her diary. She went into the office and started writing the start of her story. She coped word for word out of her diary. Each chapter had about a month worth of writing in it. Maya was so brave to put all of her feeling and thoughts into a book.

Maya walked into school where everyone was waiting for her arrive. What seemed to be lines and lines of people were waiting. She felt funny inside and didn't know why too. It was because she had won the book fair young writers competition, her writing was going to be made into a book.  Maya was so happy she was over the moon. Maya screamed with joy and jumped up and down. Summer Rose run up to her and give her a big hug.

That day when Maya got home she burst through the door with excitement, “Nanny Nanny guess what?"
"What Maya?”
"I won, I won the young writers comp "
" Really?" screamed her Nanny with excitement. That night they snuggled down together on the couch and read the book Maya had Written - This is my life.

Show Time J Rock

This week the Ngatea J Rock team went to Hamilton to perform their wonderful show. We Spent all day there getting ready and going to meetings and rehearsals. Each school got about three rehearsal  before the performance. About an hour or two before the show, we started getting our hair and makeup done.
The show started at 7:00, we were 2nd to perform. It seemed like all that hard work, for what seemed to be just a few seconds but it all payed off. I had heaps of fun at J Rock and we worked so hard, putting in every lunch time to get our show to where it was that day. We got about five or six awards.

When we arrived we played a game and then we were put into our house groups, the house groups were put into two groups. My group went to the lake first, I was in the waka first up, we learnt how to do it like the people do in competitions and we learnt how to do it tardily and at the end we had a race and my team won. After the Waka we went mountain biking around the lake in groups, I went second. when the other group went we did this off road track. . After that we went back to the school and the girls went to learn the wita and the boys did Army training, then we swapped around. At the end of our visit we got lunch. Over all I had a good day and learnt some cool things too, I really enjoyed the Waka the most.

Sushi

This week for impact we made Sushi. We learnt how to roll it the way that people in Japan do it, by Jesse. We cooked everything down at tech and made two rolls of Sushi there. They didn't stay together well, it all crumbled, when we cut into the rolls. Our first one was really bad because most of the rice came out the ends when pushed it down. They ones we made at school were rolled nicely and then we put them in the fridge to cool down so the rice stayed sticky . I had fun making the Sushi with the girls . Next week we are going to be making brownies but they will be healthy and delicious, I can’t wait.

My Hero( My Nana )

Dark brown hair flattened down with mosses, her glowing  hastily  eyes wink at me . The  smell of l her perfume  runs up my nose . Thats my nana Gail, she always  brings a smile to my face and makes me feel like a bird flying in the sky. She always gives me her support and is a guiding light in my life. In her gentle ways she shares with me her recipes for a successful life . She can always make me laugh in the darkest times.

I, like so many others,  love arriving at her house, to the smell of her hot homemade scones with jam and butter which melts in my mouth. She is a healthy helpful happy person, who has a kind heart to share, a  hard worker and always makes time for us grandkids. Nana loves baking  delightful treats for us  and she also pass down our family's recipes to our generation. She is a nana to more than just our family, she shares her love all around  and is a great friend to all in the community. That’s my hero.
